Do I need to be homebound or a certain age to receive services?

No, anyone can receive in-home counseling services.

Do I need preauthorization from my insurance company?

Individuals with Medicare do not require preauthorization. Some private insurances do require preauthorization. If you are not sure if your insurance requires it, you should contact them directly to find out.

Will services from a Home Health Agency interfere with your services?

Home Health Aides will not interfere with our services and there is no conflict. We can provide services to you at the same time as you receive Home Health Services or any other physical health providers (including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and RN services).

Who pays for these services?

We currently accept Medicare, Railroad Medicare, Aetna, and Humana commercial and Medicare Advantage insurance plans. For individuals without an accepted insurance we also providing a sliding scale fee, which can be found by clicking here.

Is there a limit on the number of sessions I can receive?

Medicare does not put a limit on how long or how often you may receive services. However, some private insurance plans require pre-authorizations and reauthorizations for continued services and may stop services if they deem it to not be medically necessary.

Are services available anywhere I live?

We currently provide in-home services throughout Queens, Nassau and Suffolk County and telehealth services throughout New York State. We cannot provide services to individuals in skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities or a hospital. We also are unable to provide services to clients receiving hospice care.

How long does it take for services to begin?

Although this can depend on our availability at the time you request services, typically our social workers will contact you within 2 business days of setting up services and will offer an appointment within 5 business days.

What if I don’t want to meet in my home?

For individuals not wanting in-home services we also offer telehealth counseling through Zoom. Although, we have an office located in Melville, New York, this is for administrative purposes only at this time.

Do you have bilingual therapists?

We currently have therapist that speak Italian, Spanish and Korean. This is based on location and the practitioner’s availability. Please call us if you require services in a language other than English and we can let you know our current availability.

Can I submit a referral on someone else’s behalf?

Yes, you may submit a referral on someone else’s behalf as long as they have given you consent to do so. You may request an appointment by contacting us at (516) 698-5511 or completing an appointment request through our website by clicking here.
